Norway and Italy have a long history of good relations – for example, did you know that Italy was one of the first countries to recognize Norway’s independence in 1905?

On April 11th LUSDA had the great pleasure of meeting H.E. Johan Vibe, Norway’s Ambassador to Italy. The Ambassador gave us an interesting presentation on the relations between Italy and Norway – both on a bilateral level and through common forums such as the UN, NATO, OSCE and the Council of Europe. We also got interesting insights into diplomatic practice, not least in terms of peace diplomacy in civil conflicts, something the Ambassador himself has a lot of experience in.
