Visit of the Teatro dell’Opera with INA Association

Today, a group of LUSDA and INA members participated in a guided tour of the famous Teatro dell’Opera of Rome.
We learned about the historic theater completed in 1880, and visited each level of seats in the audience. We also visited the Royal Box, where the President (and previously the King) sit with invited guests and other members of the Government (including ambassadors) when watching a performance. We also visited exhibits on costumes used in notable performances and archives of related playbills and jewelry. The Teatro holds one of the largest chandeliers in Europe at 6 meters long and 3.5 meters wide and it is surrounded by an original fresco by Annibale Brugnoli.

We thank Operaroma and Nunzia for their hospitality and expertise.
