A delegation of LUSDA had the opportunity to exchange discussions with Chargé d’Affaires Rodney Hunter during an insightful meeting at the US Mission to the UN Agencies in Rome.

Our exchanges delved into the operational dynamics of the UN between countries of different sizes and contributions - from tough negotiations to the prioritization of resources and the central role that bodies like the FAO, IFAD and WFP are playing in the fight against global food shortages.

Mr. Hunter provided information on US contributions to the Rome-based Agencies where the U.S. fundings are still crucial to keep the Agencies’ work going. This underlines not only the US commitment to global welfare but also its active role in shaping a sustainable future toward SDG2: Zero Hunger.
