On the 13th of February, LUSDA had the privilege of meeting with Her Excellency Dalia Kreivienė, Ambassador of Lithuania to Italy. The discussion provided a deep dive into Lithuania’s strategic priorities, from energy independence and the synchronization of the Baltic grid post-BRELL to the role of nuclear energy in the country’s future.
On the security front, we explored Lithuania’s defense enhancements, the importance of NATO support in strengthening the Suwałki Corridor, and the nation’s unwavering commitment to Ukraine. The conversation also touched on trade relations, both across Europe and overseas, as well as Lithuania’s approach to innovation and youth-driven entrepreneurship, particularly in the financial sector. A key takeaway from the meeting was Ambassador Kreivienė’s advice to young people and aspiring diplomats: to read history extensively in order to develop the knowledge and critical thinking necessary to take sides and make responsible decisions in global affairs.
